Spring - where did it go?

Spring was here and then it went :( Beautiful day on Saturday. Sunday, nothing but a movie day. Went looking at houses on Saturday with the Clan. Yep, the Clan. Let's see, Jeff, Courtney, Pat, Dick, Beth, Brad, Bob-the Realtor, and then Matt showed up! It was quite a parade! Most of the houses were pretty nasty, but they did see one that caught their eye :) We'll see! Austin had a tournament in Seekonk, lost all three games. :(

Went to see Monsters vs. Aliens on Sunday with Sue Sue. I think I fell asleep. Don't know how it was #1 at the box office! I tried a special recipe for dinner, shrimp and pasta, and meatballs. Oh it was so good!!! Can't wait to have leftovers for supper. ummmm!

Just got an email from Austin's Science teacher, he got a 99 on the Science test he took Friday! Yeah Austin! My day is starting off pretty well so far.....

Last 3 days were a Blur

The last three days were definitely a blurrrrrr. Friday nite basketball in Pawtucket, Austin's team won so that means we go back tomorrow. Saturday, we had our first football registration for the Falcon's. It went great, we signed up 105 kids in the first session. Hopefully, we'll be able to field all 5 teams, plus cheerleaders! It's amazing with the economy the way it is that we were able to bring that many kids in. Then, off to another basketball game in Berkley, they won this one also, you know what that means! Back tomorrow! Ha ha.

Sunday, championship game in Pawtucket - Austin's team won. He got a great trophy. Now off to New Bedford to see Grampie and Roberta, then a slew of houses to look at. Looked at about 7 or 8 houses with a few quite interesting prospects. One that I would move into today!! Courtney and Jeff are very excited about their new venture. Home we go to enjoy a 12 hour simmering chuck roast, ummmmm. A little on the fatty side, must stay with the regular pot roast from now on.

Austin's team won the runnerup trophy in Berkley, Roger said it was a great game though.

Today is Monday. I have to attend a funeral this morning - my bosses' Mom passed away over the weekend. Very sad. Meeting after that and then to my annual, much dreaded, doctor's appt. - you know - the one you have to wait a lifetime for an appt. so you can't cancel it. Hopefully, she'll be on time and I can get home early. Look forward to an evening of studying science and having my taxes done.

Crap, I havent' been to the gym since Thursday! Oh that's so not cool!

I hope everyone else has a nice relaxing day! It's very cold out! Brrrrr.

Hearing Test

Well, it almost didn't happen. Austin had his audiology exam scheduled for yesterday at 3 pm. Roger took the day off to take him. I figured they would be home by 4 pm and as I was sitting on the couch reading the paper, it dawned on me that something was wrong! I was told at Austin's hearing exam in January that the audiology exam would be at the Dartmouth location. Well, guess what, I neglected to relay that information to Roger!!!! OMG! He was so mad at me. Not only that, but the stupid receptionist, made them sit in the office for 20 minutes before telling him they were at the wrong office! Eeee I am losing it. Anyway, it all worked out, Austin was able to have his exam. The results are not back yet, but it looks like he has "matured" and progressed through the CAPD (Central Auditory Processing Disorder). Thank goodness! Still a little evidence on the left side (which is where the scarring is). Hopefully, this is an upward turn for him. Now I just have to stop him from growing!!!

Thanks for your well wishes!

Busy weekend starting tonite!

Last night Austin started a tournament in Berkley, which they won! Yeah or Nay, not sure what I want to say because the more we win, the more we play! Tonite is just practice, so I can do my 2 hour visit to the gym. Austin has an audiology exam today to see how his hearing is progressing.........hopefully good.

Tomorrow one game in Somerset and then we have to go to Pawtucket for another game (travel team). Then my weekend will probably be filled with cheeseburgers and pizza because I won't have time to cook! Basketball, football signups, baseball practice and house hunting! Thank goodness the gas prices have dropped.

Here is a link for an article that Roger and Austin starred in! http://www.gfrpartners.com/09FalconFootballSign-up.html

Cheers!

Happy Spring!

Last post in January!!!

Well here we are again in March, just finishing basketball and already starting baseball practice. Actually, Winter basketball is finishing up and Spring is beginning. Not sure how that is going to work out :) Work is extremely busy considering the economy, we are hiring more than ever. Trying to keep competitive in the mortgage market I guess.

Courtney is searching for a house, hoping to be moving down this way in July. Quite an accomplishment young lady! We'll be looking at a ton of them on Sunday, and that will be an experience in itself.

Kyle is laid off and furiously pounding the pavement. Anyone hiring? He's also researching the pharmacy tech program that is offered at some hospital in Rhodeisland. Jordan is working at Venus full time and hopes to get back into the place in Newport. He's living on his own now (a story for a different day).

Austin is surviving 6th grade. Much tougher than 5th grade but holding his own. Report cards come out next week. We'll seeee!!

Hopefully, I'll be able to keep this a little more current. But now that I'm a facebook junkie........
